Sale alert at Bloomingdale's F&F event: Use code JUNEFRIENDS or STYLE20 for 20% off through 6/9 (designer exclusions apply). Shoot me an email if you'd like an in-store coupon. As always, Nordstrom should be able to price match.

There's a decent selection of sale items already marked 25-40% off, and most likely can be stacked with the F&F code for more savings.

Closet favorites include:
- Burberry Marystow trench - $876 (I'm wearing sz 2 - see outfits)
- Longchamp LM Metal tote - $86.80 - no longer online, check stores (read review / see outfits with bag)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Continuing with the black & white theme, today's outfit also features these neutral colors. Though the colors are easy to wear, outfits can become pretty boring rather quickly. An easy way to add life to safe outfits would be through the addition of accent colors, ie: using accessories. A more subtle approach is by mixing patterns. That's the route I took today by pairing bold stripes against soft eyelet.

    1. Only because the proportions don't look quite right otherwise, lol.

  3. Cee, I think I've seen more of your tummy in the past few weeks than in the past few years, lol. great summer look! still too chilly for that here. odd.

    1. Haha! It's because I feel the longer skirt needs to be balanced out with a shorter top. The proportions don't look quite as right if I just tuck the top in.

  4. Cute outfit! Thanks for sharing the tip about Nordstrom being able to price match. I never knew that!

Cee, you mentioned you wore the dress as a skirt. How did you get it to stay without falling? Hope my question makes sense.

    Thanks!

    1. Yup, Nordstrom customer service is superb. They may be the best out of all the department store retailers out there, imo.

The dress is strapless, so I just tucked the bust portion inwards, then wore it as a skirt. There's a side zipper so everything stays put and is quite comfortable. I'll eventually ask the tailor to turn it into a skirt, but for now, this trick works just fine.

  5. Bloomingdales F&F are the best time to get the trench! I did the same for my trench and received a great deal on it.

Something I love about the major department stores is that, if you have the item altered and you're not satisfied with the results, they will either redo it or start over with a brand new item. I had this happen with my Burberry Trench where there was a hole that couldn't be corrected. Instead of fighting me, they just pulled a brand new one and offered to redo the alterations.

    Havea a great week! :)

    1. I bought my trench from Bloomingdale's also, but I don't believe it was during their F&F... probably just another sale. Alterations cost money, right? I *think* they'd be free if you buy from a Burberry store, but only at full price. Something worth considering also if there are major alterations to be done.

Thanks for sharing your positive experience, Jenn!

    2. Oh! You're right! I did pay about $30 to get the sleeves hemmed!

I do remember purchasing a peacoat at the Burberry store on sale and they charged me $35 per sleeve to hem. (All full priced items had basic hemming at no cost). $70!! I went to my local tailors and he just charged me $40. :)

Alterations can be so expensive. I wish I could grow. lol.

    3. Ooh, thanks for sharing the costs, Jenn! I was curious about the prices across various stores and this is a helpful guideline.
